QUIZZITCH
From Mr. Darcy to Begum Jaan, we have it all here. Showcase your knowledge by taking a deep dive into the world of literature. Welcome to "Quizzitch", the Literature Quiz organised as a part of the Presidency University Literature Festival 1.0, by the century-old Presidency College Society for Acquisition of General Knowledge (PCSAGK).
Rules and Regulations:
- 1. The quiz is restricted to college/university/institute students only.
- 2 There will be a total of two rounds for this event.
- a. Prelims Round which will be conducted in written format. The best 6 teams shall advance to the finals. In case of a tiebreaker, starred questions will be asked.
- b. Finals - The six teams shall compete against each other by answering a total of 30 questions. There will be a provision for infinite pounce and bounce in this round.
- 3. Each team shall consist of a maximum of two members. Cross-college teams are allowed as well.
- 4. Reporting Time - 1.30 p.m.

ANECDOTE
Short Film
We welcome all the enthusiastic emerging filmmakers who would like to tell a story through the lens of their camera. Be it from the core of your personal experiences or the commentary you've been carrying in your mind, Presidency University welcomes you to join in the Short Film competition as part of The Presidency Literary Festival 1.0 organised by the Presidency University Film Society (PUFS).
Rules and Regulations:
1. The maximum duration of the short film must not exceed 10 minutes, including opening and
closing credits.
2. The short film must bear English subtitles.
3. The short film must not have been publicly screened or released before the festival.
4. The short film must not contain any copyrighted material unless the makers have adequate
permission/certification to use it.
5. The short film must not contain any offensive or inappropriate content, including but not
limited to excessive violence, hate speech, and discrimination of any kind.
6. The short film must be submitted in mp4 or MP4 format. via a secure, open cloud file link
(eg. iCloud, Google Drive, etc.), to be attached to the email body.
7. Each participant can submit only one entry.
8. The participant must be the rightful owner of the submitted film and have all necessary
permissions for the use of the film's content.
9. The festival organisers and the jury reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet
the contest rules or standards.
10. The top three short films will be screened on the final day of the festival - 31st March, 2023,
and the winners will be announced thereafter.
11. The subject line should be "Submission for Anecdote - TPLF 1.0". The participants also have
to mention their Name, Batch/Year of Study, Affiliating Institution, Contact number and
Email Address in the mail body. Lack of any of these details will lead to disqualification.

AASHU ABHINAY
Enactment
If we travel down the memory lane, one of the most cherished moments would be the ones where we tried to emulate saying the perfect “wingardium leviosa and not levio-saaa” in front of the mirror for hours. Something that was behind the curtains, must be brought under the spotlight now! The Presidency University Literature Festival 1.0 brings to you AASHU ABHINAY - an event where participants will have to act instantly on a provided scenario.
Rules and Regulations:
1. Participants will have to enact on the topic mentioned in the chit, picked up from a pool of the
same.
2. Participants can act solo or in a team of a maximum of three.
3. Time - 5 minutes.

GAME OVER
Character Face-off
What happens when two of your favourite fictional characters come alive and converse on topics of utmost interest? What happens when you are asked to step in their shoes and enact the arguments for them? Game Over - the character face-off competition anticipates such intriguing debates ranging from existentialism, accountability and desperation, stretching as far as the imagination goes. The event aims at a synaesthetic experience performed on stage, freed from the boundaries of virtuality and textuality.
Rules and Regulations:
1. Participants are required to pair up and make
teams of two for the event and enact out debates
concerning the allotted topics through the point of
view of the chosen, personified fictional character-
sets.
2. The allotted time slot for each team is 6 minutes.
A warning bell would be rung after the first 5
minutes are over.
3. Participants can resort to English, Bengali or
Hindi during the face-off. Switching between
languages is also permitted.
4. Participants are encouraged to come up with
original, interactive arguments which would reflect
their sound knowledge of the chosen characters
and the topic of concern- based on which they
would be judged.

REDISCOVER
Cover Illustration
Remember how you always used to doodle images and sequences from your favourite book at the back of your math notebook? What if years later you were told that the doodles you used to keep hidden away, have finally been given a chance to come to life? The Presidency Literature Festival 1.0 brings to you "RedisCover", an exciting opportunity for you to imagine and re-imagine the cover of your favourite book, in whatever medium you want. Conjure up all those emotions of pain, anger, love and elation you felt while reading and re-reading your favourite literary masterpiece, digitally or on a page, and weave your tale through this fun competition of cover illustration.
Rules and Regulations:
1. Participants can choose any book of their choice
written in Bengali, English or Hindi.
2. Each participant is allowed only one entry.
3. Every submission must be an original work - digital
art is permitted too. However, plagiarising
from any existing illustration of any edition of the book
will lead to disqualification.
4. The format for submission should be .png/.jpg and
the image orientation should be portrait. The name of
the file should be "Full name of the
participant_RedisCover"
5. The subject line should be "Submission for
RedisCover - TPLF 1.0". The participants have to
mention their Name, Batch/Year of Study, Affiliating
Institution, Contact number and Email Address

KAVYAAVRITTI
Poem Recitation
Writing poems has been a cathartic experience altogether, But this whole experience will be elevated when you can share this experience- live with an eager audience. Let the poet living in the pages of old diaries materialise through the event of poem recitation- ‘KAVYAAVRITTI”, an initiative by Presidency University Literature Festival 1.0.
Rules and Regulations:
1. Recitation of poems written only in English, Hindi, or Bangla.
2. Participants will not be allowed to read out.
3. Time duration - 3 minutes
4. Reporting Time - 3.30 p.m.
